Mirissa's crescent beach is one of the south coast's most photogenic, backed by coconut palms and a scattering of relaxed cafés and beachfront guesthouses. Between November and April, boats head out from the harbour in search of blue whales and sperm whales, alongside regular sightings of spinner dolphins. Parrot Rock, a small rocky outcrop reachable at low tide, offers good sunset views over the bay.
